See, I knew it would slow down...

Today I worked on more FAB finish work.  First, I painted the carb air flange (see below), then I installed the K&N air filter and the the rear cone cap.

Then I marked and drilled the carb air box...

It's much bigger than the one I had before for a 320 (sent back to James for exchange), and a totally different shape-

Here it is held up in position...

I had to paint it.

Then I installed the carb air flange to the top of the FAB cone, and tested it's movement.  Works great!

So that's it for garage work this winter...unless I get a nice warm day to work, but that's unlikely.

I removed the panel so I can keep working on stuff inside this winter.  I plan to build the panel on the table, wiring and all.  That way I can get it all done, then paint or powdercoat the panel, and be ready to install it next year.

I like this picture because it shows how the panel can be removed, and the engine controls can stay in place, just like I planned!  I did safety wire the bracket so it doesn't sag over the winter.

Then I covered the fuselage up with plastic to keep dust off it...in four months or so, I'll be building in the garage again!

On to the panel!
