The Friday after Thanksgiving being the traditional nutty shoppers day...and my wife being one of those...I chose to stay away from as many people as I could today by working on the airplane.  That sorta worked.  See, being in the heated hangar certainly has it's advantages...it's also connected to the FBO where I work, which means about every ten minutes, I have a new visitor!  While I don't mind it, it is certainly going to cancel out the time advantage that working in a heated hangar brings.  Oh well...I'd rather be able to work comfortably in between visitors, than in the cold...slowly and miserable!

I started out by making a new battery strap.  One of our A&P's noticed that the AL strap that I had made was sitting too close to the positive terminal, and recommended that I either make a new one, or at the very least, move the bolt hole over to move it away from the terminal.  I chose to make a new one out of phenolic (sp?) board the same thickness as the AL strap.

After that, I was going to work on getting the AOA system done, but I bought the wrong size "T" fittings for the tubing.  I went back to return them to get the right size, and they (Lowes) didn't have any.  Ugh.

So, I turned my attention to installing the OAT probe in the fresh air NACA vent opening.  One properly sized grommet, and some RTV on the back to hold it in place, and voila!

I'll need to secure the wiring once the RTV is dry, but that's almost done.

I thought about starting the spinner, but decided against it with the time I had left before going to pick up Brit.  So I looked at the list of "quick jobs", and went for the fuses.  I got almost everything powered up today...just missed the 295, and some other things that don't need power now, such as fuel pump and pressure, oil pressure, and the smoke system.  I checked each item individually as I fused them, and all the smoke stayed inside the wiring!  Woo hoo!!

Everything in this pic has power to it now.  The RDAC for the EFIS is working fine, and the ICOM lit up perfectly too!  I'm getting power at the AHRS unit, but never got a horizon, and the heading isn't right, so I'll need to read up on that to see if there is something I have to do in the setup of the EFIS to get those.  Otherwise, all looks good!

The Enigma starts up with the default factory screen.  I've designed my own screen that I'll be putting on the SD card soon...can't wait to see that!
