I was able to work on the airplane for a couple hours this morning unexpectedly! Last night I bought a couple of barbed "T" fittings in 1/4" size at Ace Hardware to see if they would work on the 3/16" ID tubing for the AOA. They do, but I had to heat the tubing first to make it work. I haven't been able to find any 3/16" barbed "T" fittings here in town, and I hate to order two of them and pay shipping when they only cost a buck a piece...anyway, I got the AOA lines all plumbed to the instruments. I still have to secure the tubing to the ribs in the wings, but I'm still looking for the right clamp for that.
After that was done, I ran power for the I/O Extender to get a current reading on the EFIS.
Next I headed upstairs to my office to grab the Enigma screen that I designed, and loaded it on the SD card. Here it is...
It all looks great, but I can't figure out why my #4 CHT temp text is not showing up. The probe is in and wired, and the text shows up in the simulator (where you design the screen), but it's absent here. HA! Didn't think I'd get away with no issues, now did ya!? Everything else appears to be functioning...the AOA bar hadn't yet shown up when I took this pic, but it's there now. The probes appear to be reading temps properly, and are pretty close to one another. The air temp shows higher because I breathed on it to test it just before the pic. Now, I still haven't figured out the missing horizon...it's not supposed to be two-tone gray, and it should be showing a nose up attitude since the tail is on the ground. I also still have to set all the parameters such as airspeed tape markings, and the RPM gauge range. Other than that tho, it's going good!
I also put a fuse in for the 295 today. There's a problem there...the "Lost external power" warning flashes about every second, then goes away, then comes back...Unsure of where to start with that one...
Little by little, I'll get there!
