11/29/2009 Spent an hour on the airplane today...Brit and I took the canopy out to the airport so I could install it...probably for the last time, we'll see. Since it's in a big hangar with a lot of other airplanes, and curious line guys running thru it all the time, I wanted some extra security against people flipping switches to show someone what this and that does. I know it happens...I used to be one of 'em! ;o)
Other than that, I started working thru some troubleshooting on the horizon and compass issues on the Enigma. Turns out the compass wasn't working because I had somehow forgotten to power it. Works better with electrons flowing! I didn't have enough time to wire it today, but that will be done soon. I also thought I had the horizon issue resolved...I had the AHRS plugged in to the wrong RCA jack on the Enigma. I plugged it in to the "High" audio out, rather than the LAN Airtalk line in where it should go. That didn't cure it either though, so it's probably the wires I have. I'll check all the wiring first before buying new ones though. It also could be because the compass didn't have power, and because they run in to a splitter that converges two to one in to the Enigma. After I figure this one out, I'll address the 295 power cycle issue, but I may install antenna's before doing that. So many things left... 1.0 hour |
