10/25/2006 Tonight was prep night for the riveting session I have planned for tomorrow evening when my dad can come over to help. I started by priming the mating surfaces on the ribs. I wasn't going to prime anything here, but decided to do at least the mating surfaces.
I did bend the trailing edge of each top skin just a little bit to allow it to sit in the V cradle a little better. Then I cleco'd the ribs to the bottom skin, and set the rivets between the ribs and rear spar. Some of these have shims as you can see in the pic below.
I repeated this step for the other flap, then set up the V cradle, and cleco'd the skins to the ribs, put the left flap in the cradle.
We'll hope for the best to end up with a twist free flap tomorrow! 1.25 hours |
