Tonight I was going to install the roll bar, but I forgot that I need to get back in the tail cone one more time, so I'll wait on that for a bit. I did go ahead and final install the roll bar attach brackets though.
So then I went back to working on the panel. First I clamped and drilled the 703B and 703C angles to the back of the panel.
Then I made 644L & R and the 643-1.
Then the 644's were drilled to the 768 center sub panel, and the 768C was also drilled to 768.
The 768C has to be positioned 1/8" below the top of the sub panel for the canopy seal.
Then I took everything apart to deburr, and then rivet the 644's and 768C to 768.
I think Van's assumes that most people will have their finish kits by this stage in the game because I have come up with a missing part again. The first were the wing root fairings, now I don't have the center F-697 "hat section" for the center sub panel. Not sure if I'll order it now, or just wait for the finish kit. If I wait, it's gonna be at least January before it's here. Guess I'll order it now.
