10/24/2008 I brought some Tight Seal home from work for the weekend, as well as some different types of Adel clamps to try. The first thing I did was change out the two Adel clamps I put in last night for the oil pressure hose. I am now using heat resistant white rubber cushioned Adel clamps. These are softer, easier to work with, and the heat resistance is a plus. I forgot to take a picture of these, but they're just white, rather than black. Next I final installed the fuel lines and fittings from the fuel pump. I found an 823-6D fitting at work today for the carburetor, so that was installed as well. Tight Seal was used for each NPT fitting, and the lines were then installed and tightened down. No pics...looks the same as last nights pics. I did take a picture of the restrictor fitting that is used for the oil and fuel pressure lines though.
Then I installed the plastic tubing for the overflow drain. I decided to use the nylon tubing that came with the SafeAir pitot-static kit. It's the perfect size, and I have plenty of it.
The thing I don't get about this, is the plans tell you to safety each end of the plastic tubing by wrapping safety wire around each end...
Huh? I have no idea how to do this, so I'll be consulting the online community for this one...there is a picture of it on the plans drawings, but it doesn't show how it was accomplished. 1.75 hours |
