I only worked 2 hours today, but it felt like I did a lot!  I didn't start until 8:15 this evening...spent most of the day veggin' on the couch with Wiley.  Then I went over to my friend Rich's house this afternoon to work on my Cessna 195 RC that is taking me FOREVER to build...anyway, this page is about my RV update, so I started tonight by removing all my tie wraps from the engine mount to replace them with Adel clamps.  I started a thread on VAF yesterday that spawned this topic, and after reading the responses, this is the proper thing to do.

The green arrows point out where I had tie wraps securing the ground cable, and you can see the new clamp in place.  The clamps hold it sturdy enough to only need that one.

Another thing in that thread pointed out to me was that if you need to use a tie wrap on the engine mount, put UHMW tape underneath it.  I did that here, and I also figured out how to safety that plastic tubing.

Then I moved on to making the hole for the cabin heat firewall pass thru eyeball.  I used the little Greenlee punch again for this.

Here's the engine control panel with all four push-pulls in position-

I also drilled out each of the four eyeball fittings to fit the cables.  The throttle and mixture cables are 1/4", and the cabin and carb heat cables are 3/16".  Getting them clamped down on the drill press was fun...

I need to find out if I need a heat shield here.  The plans call for one, but I don't know what the space required is between exhaust and fire sleeve to need one.  I'm assuming I need one...
