10/26/2009 Back from a great weekend with Brit and the dogs in Davenport, IA! Brittne did such an awesome job in the obedience trials, with 5 first place ribbons, and 3 High in Trial ribbons!! Way to go honey!! Tonight I had a visit from my friend Bill Lane and his wife at the hangar. Bill is a fellow RV builder, working on his canopy tip up frame, and was in town to meet up with his son, so they made some time to come see me...Great to see you guys!! After they took off, I got right to work on getting the switches installed for the nav lights and the strobes. I threw a question out on Rivetbangers today on how to wire the S700-2-3 switch, and quickly had my answer...to make a long story short with pictures to tell it, they work!
The green is different than what I had before...this one being closer to, or actually spot on, the color green it is legally supposed to be. However, the camera doesn't pick it up quite right. Anyway, they are quite bright!
Had to turn on the landing lights to go with them, but the pictures are pretty bad. Gotta love the pocket digital for low light shots...
With the lights in the hangar back on, I started working on running the strobe signal wires, and locating the power supply. I decided to leave it where it was before, but didn't get it mounted because I can't find the brackets that I made a couple years ago for this. I probably sent them along with all that stuff when I sold it before so I'll have to find some z-channel and make them again. The arrows are pointing to where the strobe signal wires go thru the seat pans with a rubber grommet.
The right side wire is going to be long enough to reach the power supply, but the left one is going to need about a two foot extension to get across to the supply. I have plenty of wire to splice in from the other two 15' cables that won't be used (I think I'm going to put a Thor or Posistrobe strobe/tail light at the back). It'll probably be another few days before I get back out there to the hangar, and I hope to be moving to the heated hangar at Image soon...got a little chilly tonight! 2.0 hours |
