Looks like Monday's are gonna be the main work night during the week this fall since Brit has kennel club classes all evening.  Tonight I started with the manifold pressure fittings.  I ordered the MP line from Bonaco today, and I hadn't yet installed the fitting on the #3 cylinder or the manifold block on the FW.

I'm down to a very short list of things to do FWF, and most of them are items to address later like all the carb adjustments.  So at this point, other than installing that MP line when it comes in, I'm done with FWF stuff!

So I decided to hook up the landing lights by connecting the power leads to the wig wag flasher first...

...then I removed the wingtips, and made a ground block out at each wing tip for the lights to have a local airframe ground.

Next I installed the battery for the first time, and got it secured.

Time to test my first bit of wiring...the baggage lights are hot wired to work when the master is off, so I threw a 2 amp fuse in the block, and flipped the switch!  They work!!

That gave me some confidence to check the landing lights...they work too, but I don't have the switch wired properly.  In the off position, the LED caution light is on, and it shouldn't be.  Flipped to the middle position, the lights should be on; they aren't, and the LED caution light is on, which is right.  Flipped up to the wig wag position, the LED caution light should be on; it isn't, and the lights should obviously wig wag; they don't, but they are on.

As it turns out, this switch problem won't matter anyway.  After I did this test, I got the install instructions out for the AeroLEDS that I'll be putting in place of the halogen bulbs soon, and I made the discovery that they have their own built in wig wag flashing system, and mine will be taken out altogether.  So, one problem up, one problem down...those halogens do look REALLY cool in person with the blue tinted glass lens though.  I think I'll put 'em on my car where they should be anyway...
