9/27/2007 Slowly starting and getting a few things done on 'The List'. I started tonight by reinstalling the fuel vent end fittings since the sealant is cured.
Then I installed the center brace for the rudder pedals.
I've been debating on where I want to install the power pack for the wingtip strobes. I was hoping to get the pack between the front seat ribs where it could be accessed when the seat pans are out. Not enough room between ribs. Then I thought about cutting a hole in the baggage floor to mount it under a cover. That would work, but there isn't a whole lot of room for the wires to get in there and not rub on the floor or skin, depending on orientation. So, I decided to install a couple pieces of angle to mount the pack to just behind the baggage bulkhead.
The pack was clamped for positioning the bottom angle, then moved toward the middle for drilling the mounting holes.
The bottom holes can use a bolt because it will nest inside one of the corrugations of the bulkhead panel. The top two will have to be screws, and countersunk in to the angle to fit flush against the panel. 1.5 hours |
