9/8/2007 I invited the usual suspects (Carl, Rob, Terry, and Larry-couldn't make it) over to help me remove the wings from the fuselage this morning. The wings came off MUCH quicker than they went on, that's for sure-about 20 minutes! We also moved the fuselage back to the long bay in the garage, so it's back to normal (well, as normal as a garage with an airplane in it can be anyway...).
Before the wings went back on the wall, I wanted to get the platenuts for the wing root fairings out of the way. I went to my hardware bins looking for a drawer full of K1100-08 platenuts, and to my surprise, I found an EMPTY drawer! I still have no clue where I used those, but there should've been something like 50 of those in there. Rob came thru for me by letting me borrow his supply (THANKS ROB!!) so I could keep working today. For those of you that have followed the build site, I've probably said this a dozen times, but I hate platenuts.
I just did the bottom side of the wings in the cradle, since I really had no access to the top side. My mom and dad came over this evening to help me get them back on the walls, and I can do the top side platenuts tomorrow on the wall. 3.5 hours |
