Tonight my dad came back out to the hangar to help me with the carb air box again.  Before he showed up, I laid a couple strips of 'glass down on the outside underside of the plenum where we extended the intake ramps the other day.

As I was finishing that, he showed up, and we went to work on figuring out how to hang the air box.  Ultimately, I chose to hang it with one piece of .063 AL because after we attached the air box to the carb bowl with some SCAT tubing, it really became pretty well supported.  I might change this later, but for now I'm sticking with this.  After the air box is attached to the front of the cowl, it really isn't going to go anywhere.

After a little finagling, we got the intake hole to line up nearly perfectly with the cowl inlet ring.

I was pretty pleased with this tonight, and after one more fit of the plenum (I hope!!), I can finally call the summer job of cowl/plenum/air box complete minus finish work!!
