Bahamas vacation 9/30-10/6/2007 We needed a vacation, and Brittne wanted a place to lay on the beach, and do nothing at all. This perfect place is called, believe it or not, Paradise Cove on the west end of Grand Bahama. Secluded, quiet, beautiful. We had this place to ourselves most of the week! The first day it rained, so Brit and I hung out on the porch and read books and magazines, listening to the surf and rain.
After rain all day, we were treated to a beautiful sunset...the view out the front door of our villa...
The next day, Tuesday, was gorgeous! This is mid morning, getting ready to hit the beach...and get sunburned!!!
Brit wasted no time in getting out to the water. You can see the "islands" of the reef just offshore. We snorkeled out there, and it is absolutely beautiful underwater out there!
Ahhhhhhh...this is what we came for.
There are two villas that were just rebuilt. The resort was more or less destroyed a couple of years ago by hurricanes, but the family rebuilt the place, and it's better than ever!
This is the Red Bar. Great food, cold drinks, and friendly people. They do snorkeling tours each day, and this is the resting place. We ate there a couple of times, but did go shopping for food to fix in the villa.
This is looking back to the villas from the Red Bar.
On Wednesday, we decided to catch a ride in to Freeport to look around. This place is called the International Bizarre. It used to be a very busy, happening place, but most everything has moved to Lucaya, which was our next stop for the day.
After a day of walking around and shopping, we found an empty beach in front of our villa (just like we expected), and had to take a great sunset picture!
Thursday was a REAL treat!! We decided to go to a place where we could swim with dolphins!! Click here to go to the page with more pictures! It was a FANTASTIC experience, and well worth the time and money spent! Here we are just leaving the dock, on our way to the location.
This was our trainer for the visit, and one of the dolphins that we swam with.
Back from that unforgettable day, it was another very relaxing evening, and beautiful sunset.
Hey STUD!
Hey CUTIE!!
The sky and lights combined for beautiful pictures.
